Resident Agent in Charge Scott Perala of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Tobacco shakes hands with 14th Circuit Solicitor’s Office Investigator Dylan High Tower following a swearing-in ceremony Thursday at the federal courthouse in Columbia. Hightower and Perala will work together as part of a violent crimes task force.
BLUFFTON, SC (Nov. 13, 2017) – The Fourteenth Circuit Solicitor’s Office and the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives have joined forces to combat gun violence in the judicial circuit and beyond.
Solicitor’s Office Investigator Dylan Hightower is now a member of an ATF Violent Crimes Task Force.
Hightower was sworn in during a ceremony Thursday at the U.S. Marshals Service in the federal courthouse in Columbia.
“We will primarily focus on building cases and going after those violent offenders that cause problems for not only our judicial circuit, but the entire state,” Hightower said. “This joint venture allows us to tackle gun violence from both ends and combine local, state and federal resources.”
Hightower has been with the Solicitor’s Office since 2011. He joined the Solicitor’s Office’s Career Criminal Unit in 2013.
