BEAUFORT, SC (Nov. 17, 2016) – A Burton man was sentenced to 30 years in prison today after a jury him guilty of sexually assaulting two girls.
Elidoro Ontiveros-Carrillo, 52, was convicted Thursday, November 17, 2016, of two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct of a minor in connection to a 2006 case in which he sexually assaulted two girls, ages 6 and 7 at the time of the incidents.
The sexual assaults were disclosed in 2014 and Elidoro Ontiveros-Carrillo was subsequently arrested.
“This has been very traumatic for the girls and their family,” said the case’s prosecutor, Assistant Solicitor Julie Kate Keeney. “They showed a tremendous amount of bravery this week when they testified against their abuser, and helped put this nightmare behind them.”
The defendant’s brother, Julio Ontiveros-Carillo, 42, pleaded guilty last year to two counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct in connection to sexual assaults against the same minors. He was sentenced to serve 20 years on July 14, 2015.
Circuit Court Judge Carmen Mullen handed down today’s sentence.
